Following our previous coverage of the 2011 London Riots - Is consumerism to blame for the recent riots? - we are intrigued by the assessment provided in a recent article:
"Neuroscientists and psychiatrists are joining children’s campaigners to outline how a failure to help troubled mothers bond with their babies can stunt the development of the children’s brains. ... In extreme cases it has created an underclass [of] young people more likely to be drawn into crime, unable to hold down a job or sustain a long-term relationship of their own, they will say." |

What will differentiate the successful business psychologist is their ability to analyse data quickly and extract information that is relevant in order to guide their strategies for the coming year.

Would you mind someone reading your mind? The last bastion of privacy, where we explore and evaluate scenarios in the imaginative sandbox known as our minds - is about to be revealed.
Yes, it does sound like science-fiction but we assure you that it is very much science fact. And with fast developments in computer technology and sensors, it will soon become possible at a distance and in real-time. Apart from the implications to civil liberty and personal privacy, will psychologists become increasingly redundant or evolve to challenge or embrace such techniques?

On a fairly regular basis, IBM publishes its "5 in 5" predictions that mentions 5 new technological trends or developments that will occur in the next 5 years. Given that this multi-billion dollar Corporation is actively involved in developing and creating these products and marketing, there is a good chance they are accurate. After all - there is a lot of money at stake!
